One of the most used addon in my firefox addon list was google toolbar. It was not working from last few days on my Firefox 8 and when i invistigated it came out that Google toolbar is not supportin the latest versions of firefox. When i tried to reinstall the google toolbar got this message "Google Toolbar for Firefox is only supported in Firefox 2.0 through 4.0.*.

Its very strange that google is not updateing this addon even though its been used by almost all tech savvy people. Also I have heard that google toolbar sends back data to google with type of searches made. Why is it that google is not updating the toolbar?? Is it that google only wants to promote "Google Chrome"!!

Hope i will get the alternative for features like auto translate foreigne language, google page rank, highlight the searched words etc. But i guess i will have to install addons for individual functionality and dont know how stable will that be.
