Project Management is fun:
Project Management is one of the most demanding job I have see till date. Project Manager is like a head of family and he has to take care of all every one, company, client, team leads, programmers, project and last but not the least he him self. One cannot do his best if he is not enjoying his work, so if you think you are enjoying project management, automatically you will follow the steps necessary to make project success.
Project on Track:
According to me the most important role project manager play is, making sure the project is on track. You cannot define exactly what "project on track" means. But if you ask yourself simple questoin "is the project on track!!" , you will get the answer :)
Profit:
Next important thing he should take care of is the project is making profit to company. If the project is not making profit, its his responsibility to escalate the problem on time. Being on time is very important for any project management. If he is not able to notice the change and problems on time then he cannot be a good project manager.
Project Delivery on time:
Next most important part of any project is "the team". If project manager is not able to make the team feel that they are working for single goal, and the goal is "project delivery on time" then all other factors are of no use.
Quality:
Quality is the next most important factor with will lead to client satisfaction and repeated business. Repeated business is important for any company to grow. Without quality the project is can be declared as completed, but in the minds of the client it waste of time and money. Project on time and with excellent quality is like walking on tightrope for any project manager :)
